Steve Good is the Executive Director of the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department’s Five Keys Charter School. In 2014 Five Keys was named “Charter School of the Year.” Steve has consulted with the US Department of Education on two correctional education publication, has been named “School Master of the Year” and is a member of the Community Correction Partnership for San Francisco County. Five Keys currently is a finalist for the Harvard University Innovations in Government Award, and is the recipient of the “Smart on Crime” award present by the California Attorney General Kamala Harris.

Learn about the unique education model of the Five Keys Charter School, which provides full-time education to adult inmates and is independently designed and operated by the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department,. The program includes community college dual-enrollment programs, vocational training and training in restorative justice. The proven model reverses the ‘school to prison pipeline’ and reduces recidivism by implementing alternative discipline methods and structuring content that meets the complex learning needs of incarcerated students.
