Jesse Chen was a two-term student government president at the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business and received numerous campus honors including University Homecoming King and Graduate of Distinction in 2008. After graduation, he joined Deloitte Consulting as a technology strategist and earned many awards across 9 clients, 26 roles, and 15 states in multiple industries. Frustrated by the lack of a simple, meaningful, and effective civic engagement platform for busy people, Jesse left Deloitte in August 2013 to focus full-time as CEO of Powerline. He currently serves on the national board of directors for Omicron Delta Kappa, the leadership honors society, and as board president at Move for Hunger, a national food recovery non-profit. Jesse was also a US Delegate to International Civil Society Week in 2013.
