2013 Special Recognition Awardee: A public-private partnership providing workplace experience to low-income and minority youth.
Jeremiah has worked as a mentor and classroom teacher in Minneapolis and Santiago, Chile. The South High graduate worked as a program coordinator for Admission Possible and coordinated the Wellness and Youth Employment Program at the Waite House Neighborhood Center, which is part of Pillsbury United Communities. Jeremiah earned his B.A. in Latin American and Latino studies from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and he is currently working toward a master of public affairs at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs. In 2010 Jeremiah was awarded The Family Partnership Commitment to Community Award, and his organization was recognized as the Minneapolis Employment and Training Program (METP) Youth Employment Provider of the Year.
